Why I Do This

Jobs don’t fall apart because people can’t read drawings—they fall apart because leaders don’t read the room. We split the very folks who need to sync every day—PMs here, field there, safety somewhere else—and by lunch, we’ve got three plans and a pile of rework.

I started with a tool bag on my hip and learned to follow before I tried to lead. I’ve made mistakes, taken my lumps, and know what actually moves a project: respect, clear expectations, and the daily habits that keep people sharp and safe. A loss in our industry—a superintendent who died of a heart attack right after retiring—sealed it for me. Our people are not replaceable. The work matters, but the people matter more.

What I Do Now
